Description: Wayne Koestenbaums books include Jackie Under My Skin: Interpreting an Icon; Andy Warhol; The Queens Throat, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism; and Humiliation, a meditation on one of the most disquieting of human experiences. A graduate of Harvard and Princeton, he is a distinguished professor of English at the CUNY Graduate Center and also a visiting professor in the painting department of the Yale School of Art. Jim Krusoe is the author of the novels Iceland Girl, selected by the Los Angeles Times and the Austin Chronicle as one of the ten best fiction books of 2002; Factory, Erased, Toward You, and recently, Parsifal. The recipient of a poetry fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and a reading fellowship from the Lila Wallace Readers Digest fund, Krusoe founded Santa Monica Review, a nationally distributed literary arts journal, in 1988. He teaches writing at Santa Monica College as well as in Antiochs MFA Creative Writing Program.

NEW AMERICAN WRITING
This series of contemporary fiction and poetry readings is organized by Benjamin Weissman, author of two books of short fiction, most recently Headless, and professor of creative writing at Art Center College of Design and Otis College of Art and Design.

ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Hammer members receive priority seating, subject to availability. Reservations not accepted, RSVPs not required.

Parking is available under the museum for $3 after 6:00pm
