Description:
Acorns to Artists: The First Californians; Missions and Rancho and California Plein Air Artist Exhibitions
Teachers, discover how the Bowers permanent and special exhibitions connect directly to the State of California content standards and your classroom teaching. Using artifacts as a primary resource helps to turn abstract ideas into concrete and improve students awareness of cultures around the world. Integrate the arts into your lesson plans and prepare your students for an enriching field trip next year.
Seminar lead by Docent, Jean Drum and other members of the Bowers Museum Docent Guild. Session includes a faculty presentation, hands-on art class, lesson demonstration and curricular materials. Participating teachers are eligible to receive scholarships for a school tour & art class for their class in the 2012-2013 school year (subject to availability of funds on a first come, first served basis). Advance reservations: go to www.bowers.org/tickets or www.bowers.org/learn. Sponsored by the Nicholas Endowment and The Margaret A. Cargill Foundation.
