MuseumsLA.org is the latest addition to the expanding Experience LA Network of cultural web portals and online information. MuseumsLA.org is a partnership between Experience LA and the Museum Marketing Roundtable (MMR).

The MMR is made up of museums in the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. More than 24 museum marketing professionals meet to share ideas, learn from each other, and to collaborate on promotions, programs, and exhibitions. The first major activity of the roundtable was a full page newspaper message following the 9/11/01 tragedy that read simply, "We share a vision to inspire and, at times like these, heal and fortify the human spirit. We welcome you." At the bottom of the page, the names, telephone numbers, and web addresses of 18 Museum Marketing Roundtable participating museums in Los Angeles and Orange Counties were listed.

The MuseumsLA.org website was made possible by ExperienceLA.com, a web project sponsored by the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), Los Angeles County Arts Commission and LA Inc., The Convention and Visitors Bureau.
